Animus Complex is a Phoenix-based band, comprised vocalist Matt Turkington, Jeremy Davis (guitar), Stephen Poff (bass) and Michael Ohlson (drums) that combines intelligent groove and soaring melodies to make for a mysterious audible adventure into the further reach.



Jeremy Davis was introduced to Matt Turkington mid 2011 and shortly thereafter began tracking for their first four song demo, Admission of Guilt. They received contributions from percussionists Matt Horn (City In The Sea – Sumerian Records) and their newest edition, Michael Ohlson, to complete the four song compilation, which was submitted for online distribution through Record Union in April 2012.



Soon after their Admission of Guilt release, the band announced the edition of Stephen Poff on bass. With a complete lineup, the band filmed a music video for their song “I.D.” with producer Josh Metzger (Cowtown Skateboards). Shortly after, the band began writing for an eight song release that would include re-recordings of their 2012 Admission of Guilt demo as well as four new songs. They recorded and produced their late 2013 self-titled release themselves and are currently distributing with Record Union.



In late 2015 they launched an Indiegogo campaign that successfully surpassed their campaign goal which enabled them the ability to record their latest ablum, “Immersion”, released December 3rd, 2015. “Immersion” was recorded with Matt Good (From First To Last ft. Spencer Sotelo of Periphery).



Animus Complex has been fortunate enough to have shared the stage with Animals As Leaders, Devin Townsend, Tesseract, Between The Buried And Me, Monuments, Intervals, Plini, Angel Vivaldi, Chimaira, Threat Signal, The Browning, Dark Sermon, Intronaut, Cloudkicker, Trioscapes, Conquering Dystopia, and CHON to name a few.



Animus Complex is currently touring the southwestern USA to promote “Immersion” in addition to preparing new music and music video releases for late 2016.
